Western Region in Oakland - February 2006
More than 900 small business owners and managers and 150 procurement representatives from government agencies and major corporations participated in the Western Regional Business Matchmaking event in Oakland, CA, February 13, 2006.
The program was designed to assist both those companies currently active with procurement contracts and those who wish to start exploring relationships with private and public sector buying organizations. This was facilitated through the 2,675 face-to-face Matchmaking meetings between buyers and sellers as well as one-on-one counseling provided by SBA, SCORE, SBDC and other local resource partners. In addition, a series of procurement-related workshops were offered covering such topics as marketing to government agencies and major corporations, financing, technology and small business services.
