Procurement Workshop in Indianapolis - June 2006
Special Regional Business Matchmaking Procurement Workshop
More than 500 small business representatives participated in the Special Regional Procurement Workshop at the Indianapolis Convention Center June 14, 2006. Thanks to our presenters and attentive audience for their active participation.
There has never been a better time for small businesses to pursue contracting with large corporations and government agencies. Recent changes in Federal laws that define government contracting coupled with the incentives provided to big business to contract with smaller firms has made it that much easier for smaller firms to participate in this significant opportunity.
This event was open to small businesses that reside, are active or looking to do business in the State of Indiana, this half-day immersion program was designed to assist smaller firms in preparing to do business with Federal, state and local government agencies as well as major corporations.
SBA Administrator Hector Barreto personally participated along with a team of Indiana small business experts.
Experts from Federal, state and local government agencies along with private sector firms presented an intensive and engaging training session covering the following topics:
- Strategies for accessing government and private sector prime and subcontracting opportunities
- Getting registered in CCR to do business with government agencies
- Insights on free and necessary resources accessible from the SBA, SCORE, and SBDC
- An introduction to and priority registration in the Business Matchmaking Online Network
