An Introduction to Business Matchmaking

More than 450 small business representatives participated in the Small Business Procurement Workshop Plus+++ at The Westin Southfield Detroit on June 29th, 2004. Thanks to our presenters and attentive audience for their active participation.

The Small Business Procurement Workshop Plus+++ was a half-day concentrated presentation designed to help small companies prepare to do business with government agencies and large corporations. Experts from the U.S. Small Business Administration, SCORE, Small Business Technical Development Center, Women's Business Center, State of Michigan and HP presented an intensive, engaging training session covering curriculum in the following areas:

• Identifying government and large corporation procurement buyers who are right for your business
• Writing and submitting successful proposals
• Effective marketing and sales approaches to government and large corporations
• An introduction to CCR - the Central Contractor Registration database
• The benefits of government certification and how it can afford your business the opportunity for growth and income
• How the Business Matchmaking Workshop Plus+++ program works
