An Introduction to Business Matchmaking
More than 700 small business representatives participated in the Small Business Procurement Workshop at Cal State Fullerton on January 10th, 2004. Thanks to our presenters and attentive audience for their active participation.
The Small Business Procurement Workshop was a half-day concentrated presentation designed to help small companies prepare to do business with government agencies and large corporations. Experts from the U.S. Small Business Administration, SCORE, Small Business Development Centers, Women's Business Center, State of California, Orange County Transportation Authority, Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, HP, Raytheon and Northrop Grumman presented an intensive, engaging training session covering curriculum in the following areas:
- Identifying government and large corporation procurement buyers that are right for your business
- Writing and submitting successful proposals
- Effective marketing and sales approaches to government and large corporations
- An introduction to the GSA Schedule - a goldmine of business opportunity
- The benefits of government certification and how it can afford your business the opportunity for growth and income
- How the Business Matchmaking program works
